Yes
Do you bother?

Is it to get you image views up, or hoping for comments etc?

I started tagging a few of mine last night and the viewing are on the increase.

I only did about 10, 1690 to go lol

I do it so I can find my photos quickly, rather than scrolling through.
I don't care about comments. In fact, they p!ss me off. I use it just to host my photos before I get my website up.

I have no idea why I tag and geotag all my images on flickr, I guess its just my anal retentiveness kicking in. All my images on my machine are tagged and (how sad is this) I have filled in the location based metadata for every one of my images in lightroom.

I'm the same with stuff like MP3s - all of mine are tagged correctly and have album art emedded etc.

Maybe I need help?

I don't go quite as far as geo tagging, but all my shots in Lightroom are tagged up (and these go onto Flickr when I upload there too). Once you get into a routine with tagging pictures it takes no time at all.

I tag mine and add them to groups but only when I have nothing to do. Like when I'm at work lol.

As for the comments these are annoying I have to admit. Most annoying are requests to be a contact from people I don't know. How can they be a contact if i don't know them.

Oh and the other thing that annoys me (a friend does this) is people that posts to groups where you get standard responses like 'Amateurs High 5 - You really deserve this!' with an gif image.

I've geotagged mine but not tagged them. what do you tag for? Is it stuff like , my car etc. I do that in the title though

 me too!

I put images on Flickr to be able to share them with friends etc, so if I get a message from a random stranger, I feel flattered that they have taken the time and trouble to do so. There are thousands uploaded every minute, so what made them look at one of mine.......chance most likely, I know. :)
I like to tag images, so that if I (or anyone else) is searching for a particular topic, they are easy to access.

PS: tags are like topic headings (cars, music, green, etc)

I tag ... and I like comments. This may make me a bad person.

I tag mainly because I have a few hundred photies and like to be able to find them. Also I use flickr to find images others have taken of similar places or situations -- and if they didn't tag I'd never find their images.

I don't have any issues with tagging at all. It serves a good purpose for searching for anyones images.

I looked through my flickr last night and thought about tagging my pictures, it's definitely a job for when i've got xome time on my hands but unfortunately i can't access it when i'm at work!

I tag all of my photos as soon as I put them up. Its great for finding one of your photos, just describe it in the search box and it usually comes up, remember if you have a lot of photos to tag you can use the organizr and batch tag similar photos, this might save you a lot of time.

tag them all its mainly my car pics that get the most views/faves/comments from tagging them. Its also useful for me when people have tagged thier own stuff esps with film if I want to see the kind of results i'll get with said lens, film, camera

I like it when photos are accurately tagged. They're useful for when I want to know more about a shot or I want to find photos of a particular subject, showing a particular technique, using a particular piece of kit or taken in a particular spot. I guess I do mine because they might come in handy for someone else who likes to use them in the same way I do. [/anal]

Most annoying are requests to be a contact from people I don't know. How can they be a contact if i don't know them.

I've added a lot of people as contacts that I don't know. I don't mean to annoy them, but it's a handy way to keep track of members whose work I like.

I tag mine as I upload them - doing 80-120 at time recently. Takes most of the evening, but it's worth it!

Me two, I think it's one of the best features, there are that many superb photographers on FlickR it's hard to keep track. But if I put them as a contact I can see their recent uploads with no effort, great motivation to take better photos. I've got a few people here from TP on my contact list but they won't know it's me a my screen name there is different.
