For my sins I'm a user of Facebook and finding it handy keeping up with friends and sharing photos from various events. To avoid having to upload images to both my Flickr and Facebook accounts I took a look at some of the the apps setup to feed Flickr updates to Facebook.

I briefly tried one a couple of weeks back (which I thought was the offical app) and it seemed to work well. Bulk uploads to Flickr created one clean Facebook entry such as:-

Although as I didn't have much time to fully test I disabled it and and came back to it a couple of weeks later to try it again; although I seem to have enabled something different as now every single image uploaded creates a seperate Facebook update meaning everyone else gets spammed.

Anyone here feed their Flickr updates to Facebook? If so would you know what that first app was or can you recommend anything else that is an improvement on the Yahoo offering above?

Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy,
I'm using an app to update my FB as well. It used to work well displaying maybe three thumbnails of the new uploads, but now seems to display just one, and takes quite a while to show up on the FB page.

The one I use if probably the same as yours, it's FLICKR! including the exclamation mark. There seems to be lots of them all spelt bery similarly. I just used the search box at the top of the FB page with the word Flickr and then filtered using the "applications tab" on the left side.

Hope this helps,
Jarlath

Just be careful what pics you put on facebook as it automatically gives them ownership of your pics you post on there.
I thought all that changed a while back and Facebook could no longer claim ownership.

But either way this is another reason why I'd like to get a half decent liking app setup; this way the images are still hosted on Flickr and only linked to via Facebook, therefore they have no grounds to claim any form of ownership.

Oh in that case you could be right, i will look into there T&C, hopefully they changed it.

the one i had doesnt automatically copy your pics to FB, it just provides a link back to flickr.

although as said above it used to work perfectly, now is flakey as hell and hasnt worked for me for some time.

Use flickrs own one, doesn't give every man and his dog access to your private details and works
when you're logged into flickr click on your name top right and then click into sharing and extending, turn on facebook bit

Unless it has been updated in the last few weeks this is the app I tried which ended up spaming facebook with an update for each photo uploaded. Not good when uploading a batch of thirty photos.

Will also take a look at flickrcopy.
