Yes
When I am out taking pictures I often get talking to people who ask what I do with the photos I take or if the photo is of them can they have a copy.
Anyways the worthwhile photos end up on Flickr and though I would get some "business cards" Vista Print type things, made up with my Flickr page link on them so its easier than scrabbling around for bits of paper and a pen that I can hand out when asked.
The thing is the link is quite long

http://www.flickr.com/photos/16256273@N08/sets/

what I need is a shorter link anyone have any ideas is how to get a shorter link to my page?

Thanks in advance

I've just checked my Flickr account using the username link but it comes up as page not found. When I click on my hotostream it go to http://www.flickr.com/photos/67765667@N08/ similar to Chris. Not sure why but the idea of getting some cards printed with my link on is a great idea.

Just found out, by accident, if you click the EDIT link just under the main title it comes up in the old format of showing the photos, with the info about views and comments. I much prefer that instead of the new main page photostream. I think that's why people are using Flickr less these days.

Flickr is completely free?

To the OP, you have to create your personal URL in the settings before you can use it. I don't remember where it is, but it's in there.

Just done mine, on Flickr go to the top right icon (where you can sign out) and then go to settings. Go down the settings menu until you find Your Flickr web addresses, then you can create your own link there. Mine is now http://www.flickr.com/photos/stuartgoodwin/ and it seems to work properly now. HTH.

No saying its not - just having your OWN web site to direct customers too has a better feel to it than Flickr -surely???

I have both :D

I thought you were implying Flickr was something you had to buy. You are right tho, having your own site is much better.

Thank you all very much fr your imput and time, I can make my link alot tidier.

Chris..I know what you mean, and I took up the vista print offer of 250 cards free (just pay postage) and you get a shiny little case that holds about 20, easy to customise so I designed the card around my website homepage i.e same fonts, colours etc: I've given out quite a few and I know a few people who have visited my site where I think they wouldn't have done if I had written it down on a scrap of paper..and of course there is also the vanity bit! lol
