At the moment, I am uploading my images to Flickr after converting them from TIFF to JPEG and resizing using FastStone image resizer. Would I be better off using another method to maximise image quality, bearing in mind that I now have a Flickr pro account?

Cheers,

Andy

With Flickr pro I just upload at full size, it's a good offsite backup.

I believe you can also limit who has access to full size originals on Flickr if you are concerned with unauthorised use.

One of the nice things about Flickr is when you goto an upload and are looking to post a picture somewhere, forum for example, you can select the small, medium, large or original depending on the forum rules for picture size and you don't have to upload multiple copies to optimize resolution.

Thanks for the replies folks. It makes a lot of sense to upload them at the larger size, particularly as a further piece of insurance against image loss. I may have to have a little reorganisation.

I find the quality of the 'Large' image size on Flickr to be inferior to the original so I now just resize to the 'Large' size externally (CS4) and upload that version.
