I noticed yesterday that there were photographs in my ‘camera roll’ that were not mine. On further review I identified half a dozen dates where photographs had been uploaded but not by me. Many were labelled as uploaded by me but some had other names. Many were also labelled as private. The weird thing is that these are visible on my iPhone but not when I review on my iPad. Flickr were contacted over 24 hours ago but nothing(so much for a 4 hour feedback if you are a pro subscriber)! Hopefully that is a clear description.
Anyone any idea of what’s going on?
Thanks in advance.

I suggest that you share your flickr privately including the ones of concern, with a few folk here to see what it looks like on other systems.

I use Windows 10 and an android phone

So happy to look if you wish?

That may identify that it is the iPhone with a glitch ???

It was a glitch in there system had a e.mail about it this morning

We want to inform you about a technical issue, since fully resolved, that briefly impacted photo visibility on our platform on August 25, 2025. Here's what you need to know.

What You Need to Know

Between 2:00-2:20 PST in the afternoon on August 25, 2025, a caching error caused some users to temporarily see photos from other accounts in their own photo libraries.

During this incident:

  • No downloading, deleting, or other actions were possible on these incorrectly displayed photos.
  • No account access was compromised – other users could not access your account, change your settings, or view your personal information.
  • Your login credentials remained completely secure – passwords and authentication information were not affected.

Our immediate response:

  • We identified and resolved the technical issue within 20 minutes.
  • Restored all affected systems to normal operation.
  • Conducted a thorough review and implemented additional safeguards to prevent recurrence.

What to Do Next

Since the incident has been fully resolved & your account and login information remain secure, no immediate action is required on your part.

If you continue to see photos that aren’t yours in your library, please clear your device's cache and cookies, and contact our support team immediately.

Our Commitment Moving Forward

We sincerely apologize for this incident & for the concern it has caused.

We take the privacy & security of your data extremely seriously, and we are taking immediate action to prevent any similar recurrences by conducting a thorough investigation, strengthening our system architecture, & further enhancing our monitoring capabilities.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our support team at help@flickr.com.

Thank you for your understanding & continued trust.

About a year ago there was a glitch in Flickr where when browsing the Activity Stream I saw a bunch of photos of a man standing next to a tree at sunset in various slightly awkward poses, full frontal nudity, semi boner, he looked familiar but I couldn’t place him.

Out of curiosity I clicked an image then I recognised him as somebody I follow on Flickr, intrigued (as this isn’t the normal stuff he posts) I viewed his page directly, the pictures in my feed weren’t visible in his photostream, and when I checked later there was no trace of them. I noted that none of the images had been recently uploaded - they were a few months old.

Thanks all. I received the email too! Not sure if I will recover from seeing some of my alleged photos
