looking at another thread this got me thinking about my Flickr account. Over the last few months I've had photos favourited by random people and when looking on their profiles it says no photos to view? I never really thought much about it until today. I've blocked a few people and changed all my settings so only I can see them but this still doesn't feel right. At first it was nice for people to search and see my images but now I'm not so sure. I don't take many photos at the moment and usually just use Flickr to add my own photos to sites or forums I use. I'm thinking of possibly sorting a basic website to host some pictures instead and wondered if I delete my Flickr do all the pictures disappear and all links and any groups any have been added

I wonder what your issue is with others viewing and fav'ing your photos?
If you move them to a website of your own people will still be able to see them.
Yes if you delete your Flickr account everything will go.
 
Thanks for the reply. I don't want any of my photos used in a different context. After looking today all the photos I've had favourited over the past few weeks are all wheelchair basketball, I'm probably over reacting but too much of a coincidence that most of these photos that have been favourited are by people that joined Flicked on the same date. Maybe just overreacting, should be hidden now until I decide what to do

I use Flickr and agree that control isn't what it should be.
Have you considered using the search restriction option? I have mine set to unsearchable by site & third parties i.e. Google.
So people can only find me by links I send out like on TP
 
I've ticked the boxes but it seems I can still be found by doing a Google search which brings up my full photo stream.
 
Make the albums(s) Private, that way only you or those you allow will be able to see them.
