Morning all,

I'm considering joining Flickr to showcase/share some of my more favorite shots... I have an old account which is out of date and will likely start a new one. I'm looking for tips for what type of copyright options to choose... I'm reading up on the creativecommons options on the site but any thoughts and comments would be welcome. :)

I must admit I'm unsure if it's the best option. It was OK back in the day when I used it last (2008) but unsure what it's like now. I can't recall the exact blog or article I read but sure it was in relation to some curious licensing practices they've adopted. I see you now need a Yahoo account to join it?

I'll take a look at 500px - thanks for the tip.

Frankly Flickr is getting worse and worse - perversely with every new "improvement" they make it seems to get more useless.

It used to be good when it was relatively simple, but since they have tried to turn it into some grand all singing, all dancing site it really is crap.

Thanks petersmart. I'm glad I posted this thread! perhaps Flickr isn't the way to go. Quick look at 500px looks promising.

I use flickr, what I do is disable downloading & set the max image size viewable is 1024px, does the trick.

Annoying that it's so easy to bypass the "disable downloading" option for the viewable sizes though.
