There's a thread about that very subject Alf! (y)

Yes, how do we post pics onto here - I cna't see a BB code option on the new FLickr

Same has happened to mine today Alf......i can see why Flickr users are getting less

Mines the same as it was... when did you notice it had changed? Mines the same as it was 3 hours ago..

Nice beading f4e. What's it on and what did you use?
Guy on Civinfo gave it a good seeing to with a final layer of ArtDekosos, my detailing kit is basic but slowly improving.

Looks nice mate. Nice touch on the fogs ;)

Mines currently sitting with a layer of DJ OC producing some nice beading. Roll on summer!!
Got some fk1000p to go on some 18"blades before I put some Goodyears Eagles on and will use it on the car when I have my first go at claying. Just dropped her 25mm on Eibach Pro springs and a trip to grinspeed for a frs soon, she's a diesel with a tweek or two than can surprise a few hot hatches.

Flickr - masters of change without consultation!

I wouldn't mind knowing which option to choose from the available sizes either. Seems it's set to 500x265 'Embed' by default.
For months there has been an "opt out and feedback" button.. They have given everyone the opportunity to give their opinions.

I must have missed that.....missed it last time too. Don't get me wrong, the new design looks slick but just appears to be change for changes sake.

I just had exactly the same problem when trying to post a couple of my images here. I had to take the 'HTML' link, paste into notepad, strip out the extra crap that flicker seemed to want to put in before pasting the link into my post. And have they got rid of the exif data altogether, or just moved it again?

Worked it out last night. Wasn't impressed at first but is actually easy :)

This was my biggest criticism of Flickr before their huge overhaul a while back, they never updated anything. Now at least they are moving with Web Design and keeping it look fresh

You weren't supposed to use the HTML code, but the BBCode. Copy and paste that, and that's all. You were really making life hard for yourself.

I assume from wontolla's post, the BBCode is the one under the pin icon? I don't understand the connection between BBCode and a pin and it doesn't say what it is, but I'll give it a go.

Hmm, doesn't look too good at the moment, I'll post and see if it's better.

Edit: Ah ha, success, I was clicking on the image icon in the post edit box and putting the URL in there and not just straight into the post. Thanks all for the help.

BBCode means Bulletin Board Code and you stick stuff on a bulletin board with a pin. Referring to bulletin or messaging boards seems to have gone out of favour with forum being the usual term now so it's not a great choice on their part.

Thanks for the explanation Darren.

Testing.... 1.... 2.... 3....

Not sure if it has been mentioned before but for those of you that are pretty au-fait with the interface of FlickR. You can change the language to French/Spanish, whatever!!!! And it will revert you back to the old page. I don't speak a word of any other language (struggle with English at the best of times) but I have done this as I was not overly impressed with being forced into the change and not given the choice to opt out.

The images are far too small and also reading white text on black background interferes with my vision by creating a very uncomfortable after effect.

I think I might stop using Flickr and consider going back to Photobucket to host my images. I'm in the habit of including basic EXIF data when I post my pictures here anyway.

....Interesting workaround but don't you think that the revert will only be temporary until Flickr Yahoo have got around to completing their 'overhaul'.

Does reverting to French etc mean that Flickr translates any English comments on your pics to French?

And why on earth couldn't they have done what Photobucket does and automatically copy the code for posting when you select it and it's highlit?

All comments are still in the language they were made in :)

I do agree its only a matter of time before they transfer the new version worldwide but for the time being I will hang on to the old (in French:D)

By the look of it, you can only get the correct code for public pics and all mine are set to private. Tried changing one to public and I still can't seem to find the BB code. Sod 'em!

That looks like an American red tail Buzzard!
is it?
it looks in very good condition so I reckon its a captive. ;) where did you capture the shot Robin?

?

OK, having individually selected Public for that one, I can get the BB code but now without the link back to them - or is it embedded in the pic?

Seems to be embedded in the pic now!

Please excuse the rather public experimentation - hopefully it'll help others!

Individual selection was done while looking at the pic there, clicking on the circled "i" and changing the setting from there.

Which they completely ignored.
How do you know? A lot of us like the changes they've been making, maybe we're the silent majority. People notice those pathetic blacked out "no" whines on Flickr don't they. Those of us that like it, don't feel the need to fill other people's feed with ridiculous all black uploads.
