Flickr are now part of `Oath` & from 15th Sept

I wonder if they really expect everyone to delete their accounts. Somewhat self defeating. We're just the saps at the bottom of the food chain and we have to accept our lot.

What's Flickr :-)

Personally I can't see a problem ,at least there's no mention (so far anyway) about charging .

I wouldn't worry, it's what all companies do. Part of modern life, if you don't like it, build yourself a log cabin, disconnect and go analogue! That sounds good actually...

As I've said before, yes I know it references FB, but its the same all over ;)

Flickr isn't free if you want to have more than about 200 pics on there - I pay in the region of about £20/year for a Pro account which I consider good value especially since it comes with 1TB storage.

No, you get 1TB free. I've got nearly 1000 on there and I've never paid a penny, and I'm not even at 1% of my free allowance. It's a huge amount of photos.

Indeed it is. I have about 2000 images on there, and just about 1GB used..
I doubt I'll exceed my allowance any time soon either :D

And me ,I used to have a pro account but when they changed it to free with 1tb it was a no brainer to go free ,never had a problem and I got around 6000 images on there

Can you all stop boasting please, about how many photos you have on Flickr :p

Ah but its all about quality, not quantity isn't it?

:D

When I was a BT internet user Flickr Pro came as part of the package. I haven't been with BT for quite some time but my account still shows me as Pro.

I remain a BT internet user Brian but the pro handle went sometime ago for me.
My Scottishness prevents me from paying the monthly subscription when 1tb storage can be had for free. I can do without the stats :D

I refuse to put ANY good pictures on the internet. If they are that good, they are worth someone paying me for them......put them on anywhere on the internet and your value has just been given away to someone else.

...or they just fester on the HD and no one ever looks at them other than the photographer.

I don't get paid for any photos (aside from a few weddings I've done in the past), for me it's just for fun and Flickr is a lot of fun with groups etc, and it's great for inspiration. If you're a pro being paid I'd argue Flickr / FB is good for marketing and promotion.

I am kept very busy professionally. I don't even have a website and never had one finished. I tried doing one years ago, until someone pointed out to me that I hadn't put any contact details on it. :p So I just took it down. Business was no different for not having it, and still isn't. The ONLY thing that matters is your last job.

Yes me too. I only put the bad ones on the internet. The good ones I delete immediately, because I don't have any customers who would pay for them.
