Thinking about a new monitor for my windows PC nothing really wrong with the one I have but just fancy something a bit bigger...I've seen both flat and curved types my instinct says stick with a flat version but are there any advantages ( from a photographers perspective) that a curved has

Probably best to actually try one. My instinct is that it's a gimmick except for really big screenes, but some will disagree.

stick with a flat screen, just need to have a good gander im not in a rush , my daughter is buying me it for my birthday...she was saying "you have a monitor why do you need another", dosnt say that when im buying her a new dress she needs :ROFLMAO:

Sitting here looking at my 32" flat screen, the edges definitely feel further away than the centre ('cos they are) so I can see that a curved screen might be more comfortable. But I agree with @Sky that it wouldn't be so good for editing.
