Any recommendations for a decent flask? I have 2 small stainless ones, one for coffee and brought another for soup. Soup especially wasn't really hot after 4 hours.
I have seen Stanley ones that say keeps hot for 24 hours, do they and others really do that well for keeping things hot?

I bought a sainsburys stainless one and my soup was hot 12 hours later. I do pre warm it though with boiling water as per the instructions.

I've had a Stanley one for years, it is great for keeping things hot for a long time but like any other flask once you start using the contents it cools down much quicker. The handle stops it rolling around and it has been dropped a few times and still looks like new. Can't find it currently forsale as the design must have changed.

Before the 2015 TP Iceland trip, we bought cheap stainless ones from Wilko. Kept our coffee plenty hot enough all day (in the car).

Stanley flasks are a lottery, quality control on them can be poor so you're likely to get one that doesn't work well but when you get a good one they're really good. I use one of their 500ml food flasks and it's my second. Both were fantastic at keeping food (soup) hot for 6 hours or more. The neck on the first went so the lid wouldn't stay on, the second has been fine so far but I'm being careful not to over tighten it.

Keep an eye on Amazon for these as the prices can vary a lot. I paid £12.50 for this flask when the usual price is about £22.

In terms of drinks flasks, a glass vacuum one is always going to be better than steel because the vacuum can be higher (lower??) but of course they get broken more easily too.

I have one of those - I feel like saying 'really good for the money' is doing it a bit of a disservice, as it's a lot better at keeping stuff hot than most of the expensive ones I've had.

I use a large stainless steel Thermos, enough for 4 1/2 large mugs of coffee to keep me going through the day.
Still hot after 12 hours of being kept in the car in Scottish winter :)

Bought in Tescos as they had the best price.

I use flasks everyday and have found its a false economy to buy cheaper ones, I always buy thermos stainless steel ones both for drinks and to keep food warm, as said I rely on them everyday and they haven't let me down.

Gone through loads of flasks, dropped, lost or lent out and not returned. I now use a 'Thermos' that I bought from Argos, it was a bit steep at around 30 quid but it is polystyrene lined and it keeps the contents hot for 12 hours.

Edit: its the one shown in @Matt- 's link in the post below.

Flasks are genius. They keep hot things hot, and cold things cold.

But how does it know? :D
