I don't get out much so i tend to shoot wildlife in my garden, which faces into the sun unfortunately. This means i have to use flash a lot of the time.
I have a pair of Sunpak 4500 DX's that i run from mains power with the adaptor. They have a power ratio control from full to 1/64th which makes them very versatile and able to keep pace with the drive on my 1D. As is usually the case, both these guns have started to malfunction within the last week.

Can anyone give me any suggestions who/where i could get these sorted please, or any alternative gun with equal spec' that's not too expensive. What are LED video lights like for constant light, are they powerful enough? I have a limited budget.

Best wishes for New Year

Just a thought, have you tried running them seperately, and possibly without mains power just to cut down on what might be at fault?
For example, is it possible that the power supply is starting to fail and as one flash fires it is drawing down the power too far and causing issues?

Hi,
Many thanks for your reply. I've done all the obvious checks, they're powered individually and that was the first thing i checked, which is OK. I then put a battery pack in and one gun makes the whistling noise that indicates powering up but never gives the flash ready light. (and doesnt fire) The second one powers up but only flashes intermittently when i press the fire button

Cheers.
