Hi all first of all let me introduce myself as I am new here, name is Kevin and I am a 28 year old hobbyist photographer that loves shooting macro, wildlife/nature and portraits, I will not go on too long though, so on with the thread...
I recently became owner of a FZ150 and I am now looking into buying some accessories such as a couple of 52mm filters, and a flashgun or two
I want to get into modelling photography as mentioned in the first paragraph, I am wanting to capture some lovely portrait shots and I know that that a flashgun is essential
I think someone like me who is new to all of this needs something like the YN560II which looks user friendly, as I have no idea about flashguns, so the easier to use the better, and I would like to use the flash on the hot shoe and also use the flashgun as an external flash using a light stand and umbrella along with some wireless transmitters, I do not have much of an understanding of flashguns like I have already said but I am ready to learn and not only need to learn to get to where I want to get, but want to learn!
The YN565EX is basically the same as the other flashgun but just has ettl where as the other does not, that is my understanding, I am most likely wrong, but remember I do not know much at all
I own a FZ150 and understand it supports TTL which I am still learning what that is, I have a rough understand of TTL but that is all that is, a rough understanding so again I do not know much. as the YN565EX is a flashgun with ETTL does that mean it is not compatible with the FZ150 in some way? I am pretty sure the FZ150 supports TTL but I see no mention of ETTL support? or are TTL and ETTL the same thing?
For someone new like me to all of this, what option would be better and can someone explain the differences, I have searched Google trust me, but I must not be entering the right words into search as I am finding no articles that explains it all to me and is easy to understand
