Flash websites any information please

Hi,

I have web hosting with Godaddy, now i have always used wordpress for my sites etc etc, but now i am looking these flash websites and have decided that i would like to use these, now i have no experience on how to set these up or create them.

I have a few techy mates who could prob help me, but in the meantime do you guys have any information on how easy/difficult they are to setup etc etc.

Are you looking at a premade one? Or coding it yourself? If you're coding it yourself you will need Adobe Flash, which is rather pricey...

FWIW Wordpress is probably a better bet for a website anyway, certainly with regards to SEO, you can add elements of flash (galleries etc) to a Wordpress based site.
 
My portfolio site is Flash and my blog Wordpress. I had the Flash site built for me after I designed it in photoshop but other than the basic image and text updates I have to get my friend to do any other changes (new navigation in the menus etc) as I'm just not that clued up and it gets me all confuddled!

I get WAAAAY more traffic through the blog though from search engines etc

Don't let anyone bash you for wanting Flash though, it's all about how it;s used. Sure there are some disgusting Flash sites out there but there just as many disgusting HTML ones as well lol. Just don't go over the top with it and make sure above all your images are the main attraction, the site should just compliment them, not take attention away from them.

depends of where the template is from... most of the templates I had seen from templatemonster.com you don't need Flash to update your details only replace with your pictures & update some details in the xml files (like your name, web address, picture descriptions, Contact details, etc)
