Has anyone any experience with the YONGNUO YN560?
Can anyone comment if it is any good and if it is suitable for a Nikon D90?

I've found one one ebay for £50 which is in my budget.
Anyone any other suggestions.

It's for amateur stuff such as family portraits and messing with the likes of smoke and water drops!

As long as you know it's manual it's a great flash. I'd only ever buy one from Trevor at Cotswold Photo on eBay though as he offers a 12 month guarantee.

A little update and a quick question!

I've now got the money sorted and have decided that a flash unit should be the next addition to my kit bag.

I'm looking at the YN560 from Cotswold Photo (thanks for the link Sebastian), but now I'm also looking at the RF-603 wireless triggers which come with a N3 shutter cable.

Are these a good combination?
Are they compatible with my D90/ each other?

I've emailed the same question to Cotswold, but I thought I'd get some feedback here too.

Thanks for any comments.

Mine has worked faultlessly so far, bought direct from YONGNUO

I've been using the 560 for about a month, it's been pretty good. Very powerful, reasonable recycle times and I actually quite like the "dummy lights" control system.

I've had a couple of problems with it killing batteries fast (at first cheapo alkalines but it's died on Sanyo Eneloop XXXs pretty quickly as well, although it's been in my room at boarding school so I guess my friends might have been in my room and playing 'let's blind each other' with my two flashguns).

I'm very happy with it though, and it feels very solid, I'm fairly sure it's a Canon 580EXII body with Yongnuo internals. Very well presented with its own case, stofen and stand by default which is really nice. It is a huge flash, but it sits on my 5D nicely, not sure about your body. Just make sure you're using decent batteries in it and have a set of spares available and you'll be fine :)
