Mine have packed up for no apparent reason
Any recommendations for good .. cheapest ones, Nikon Camera/ Lencarta not usb

Yn 622. Cheap, reliable.

That said I've just been using the even cheaper rf603 yongnuo. Simple, cheap and reliable.

Not bad, but overpriced. Yongnuo RF-603 are better and as cheap as chips.

The ones I can see have a usb lead (well one end) not sure if the usb goes in the light or receiver, don't have usb socket on the lights

I think thats the lead connecting the transceiver to the camera. You need a different lead to connect another transceiver to the lights

The lead you see is the trigger for remote shutter operation, there is a connector on the end of the 603 for the flash PC lead to connect to.
