Flash / Strobe effect ? Type question.

Hi there.

Not too keyed up on flash - so bear with me.

i am wanting to do a shot that involves a moving object, slow shutter speed and several bursts of flash - to capture the object moving across the frame as the flash lights it.

i understand the set up as needing a long exposure, but I am wondering if my flashgun (530ex) has the capability to give a strobe effect - i.e. to flash several times during one exposure. Does anyone know if it can, and how I set it to do this ?

You need a strobe mode - don't know if the 530ex has this but on the 580EXII, this is called multi mode (stroboscopic flash).

Actually got my flash model wrong - I have the 550 ex - and it does have a multi-mode - will report back once I've got some shots!!!
