Flash query

Hi all,
Have a Jessops 300 AF-CA flash unit which does state for Canon EOS.
I was browsing trying to find out the effects of the 1 and 11 marks on the front and came across some stuff that terrified the life out me. It related to trigger Circuit Voltage Ratings of which I no nothing....
My question is ... It it safe to use this flash with the Canon 50D

I wouldn't risk it

That sounds like a very old flash and may pre-date digital cameras
