I've got a set if these triggers for my flash

http://amazon.co.uk/dp/B003XP9G6S

And am wanting to fire another flash I've got, it's got a built in slave mode but after trying last night it wasn't firing hardly at all so was looking at getting another one of these...

http://amazon.co.uk/dp/B003547GRI

Will this work with my current ones? I've seen the little hot shoe slave adapter things aswell but am thinking this will be better?

It's on a sony a330 if that helps :)

Cheers

I think you probably need to learn why the slaved flash isn't firing before buying additional kit.

Is the master firing 100% of the time with your trigger? If yes does changing the positions, modifiers, powers of the master head in relation to the salve any difference to the slave firing? For example, if you were using a snoot pointing in the opposite direction on the master then I wouldn't expect the slave to fire each time, if that makes sense.

If you're happy that light is hitting the cell but its still not firing reliably, have you tried swapping the master and slave flash units over? Does the same problem happen when you swap flash positions?

You can buy external cells that plug into your cable socket on flash units, or you could just buy an extra set of the same triggers and receivers, making sure that they're compatible with the ones you already have.

Hi thanks for the reply,

The master is firing 100% of the time and when I've moved it around its improved a little but one time it would fire from further away then wouldn't. Then moving closer would do the same. One min it would work then not even when it was basically next to the master. After a bit of researching on google last night I found out that its a common problem with that particular flash when there is a fair amount of ambient light. To resolve it you need to cover a little bit of the sensor part with some tape or something. I tried quickly last night and it seems to have done the trick but will be giving it a proper trial tonight!

Those receivers look right, though you might double-check with the seller. Also check the flash shoe fitting is correct (Sony?). Radio is more reliable than optical anywhere outside a darkened studio.
