Instead of a book, I would highly recommend signing up for a month and watching all of Joe McNally's video tutorials. You'll learn more from these than any book I think and for the price you'll get more for your money. There's also a lot of other really good tutorials on there. Just remember to cancel before the next payment is due.

For inspiration and entertainment, The Hot Shoe Diaries by Joe McNally (the strobists' God). He uses Nikon, but it all translates into any brand.
