Flash - Out of focus images

Hey,

I was doing a photoshoot for a clothing company's spring/winter look book and i've noticed that i'd focus on the face of the person but when I take the image the face will actually come out blurred BUT the rest of the subject will stay in focus.. Any ideas?

There is no exif data so I'm guessing you may have used a lower shutter speed.

To minimise any movement of the head you need a fast shutter speed, as you were

using flash I would guess that would be a maximum of around 1/250s depending on the camera.
 
Having just zoomed in on the larger pic, it can be seen that the branches to the right

(over the subjects left shoulder) are the sharpest part of the photo.

Assuming you focused and then recomposed the shot it may just be down to poor technique

and a lot of movement going on all round.
