Flash options

Afternoon Folks.

I bought myself a Canon 7d 7 months ago and am absolutely delighted with it, the only downside is I broke the bank (and my budget!) to buy it. Because of this at the moment I only have limited funds for a flash. I am hoping to do some night time Rally photography next month and wondered if anyone has any recommendations regarding a none canon flash. In the long term I will end up spending proper money on a good quality one, but the question is do I wait until xmas and make do with the integrated flash, or is there a cheaper alternative that would suffice for now? (Something like a Meike MK-930 Universal Flash Speedlite) or similar.

Any suggestions would be most welcome!

You could look at the yongnuo yn-560 ii which is well thought of and reasonably cheap, about £50. However, it is a manual flash only and if you want ettl you could try the yn-565ex for about £100.
I use a yongnuo with my 7d with no complaints so far.

First things first....thanks for the reply. You are the only one who did!

I am delighted with the 7D.....took me a few weeks to get used to it mind.....first few pictures where terrible. But now I am used to it, I am chuffed with my choice!
