Flash help needed please

I am completely new to flashes but i do know some things like i need some slaves because i am using a d3000, i just don't know flashes to get really i don't want anything expensive about £100. I have looked at the jessops flashes and i don't think i can use them, do i need a hotshoe on the flash or could i could a pc sync cable to hot shoe adaptor. I guess i just really need to know what flashes i could use with this camera and slaves please.

Ive got a Jessops one and its decent enough for amature work

Its much better than the pop up flash as you can bounce it off walls and ceilings etc

As long as you get the Nikon version, it should clip straight onto the top of your camera and fire automatically

You could also get a sync cable which will allow you to use the flash as a slave etc

I haven't really explained very well i need something for off camera flash for bmx photography and such, so i could use a jessops flash or a sb-600 and such with a sync cable and i could use that to trigger the other flashes?

If you go to FITP Flash in the pan thread in the advertisers section...

You should be able to purchase a flashgun and wireless trigger for under £100.

You will also want stand and ball adaptor unless you use human stand...

I use a Nissin Speedlight Di622 and it has TTL (which allows you to use the sensor on the front, instead of a cable) Basicall when the flash from your camera hits the sensor, it fires

My flash was about 140 quid i think
