A flashgun is not something I am going to use very often, so don't want to spend a fortune on one. I was thinking of buying the Yongnuo YN 460-11.

Has anyone got one and if so what do you think. I will be using it with my Nikon D700.

I have just been looking into flashes as buying my first one for a canon. Have a look at the nissin di622 mk ll. It seems to have everything I need and up grade firmware if required.
I got mine from cameraworld.co.uk called them at there chelmsford office. Very helpful lady. Cost including next day delivery is about £108.

I just got a Yongnuo YN568EX for just over £100. Reason for this model is that it will sync at up to 1/8000s, and will work in remote mode.
Its very good for the money, considering my SB700 was twice the price.

However, if you're not going to use a flash much, then maybe a cheaper model would suffice.

If you buy a non nikon flash will it still talk to the camera or will you have to program flash manually. I'm thinking of getting one as well but nikon speedlights are very expensive.

Many thanks to all for your input.

I've never tried Yongnuo flashes so I can't comment on that one. I have had a few Nissin flashes though including a Di622 and the Di866 and they are fantastic flashes. Highly recommended and I use my Nissins as much as I use my Canon 580EX II. There's a Di622 MkII on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissin-Sp...ories_CameraFlashUnits_JN&hash=item35bae7feaa and the seller is pretty reliable by all accounts too.
