Hi all can someone advice me on which flash gun to get.It would be for a nikon D60.

thanks all.....

The Nissin Di866 is a great value highly featured dedicated flashgun. It might not have the classy name, but can compete in performance with the "named" flashes. Google it for reviews.

are brill wheres the best place to get them from?

I would imagine that you would get asked how much are you willing to spend & then that way you would get a few suggestions on the amount you have play with..

i wouldnt want to go over borad on price as im learning still lol....

Never a better time to get the best equipment!

SB-900 or SB-600 - both Nikon!

I would have to agree... Nikon's SB-600 - cheaper than sB-900

ive found a sb-600 on ebay. but its got the red cover missing on the front of it that protects the sensor can these be replaced?

If you want really cheap then Jessops do there own Nikon dedicated flash , they've got their limitations but aren't bad value

dont touch it with a barge pole the cover is for the focus assist beam and if its missing the flash has probably been damaged  hth mike

You should find lots of SB-600s on ebay - take your time - do some research and see what the going rate is - and buy carefully! I'd recommend the SB-600 over the SB-400 for you. Read up about the Nikon CLS too.

ah brill because i dont realy know what im buying lol....

may be a silly question but what does a FLASH BOUNCE DIFFUSER do?

There is always onestop-digital.com if the ebay prices reach £150ish as they do it for £179 new.... Just a thought but just ahd a look but unfortuneatly out of stock...

flash bounce is the ability to tilt the flash head left/right up//back and bounce the light off a wall or ceiling for a softer effect (less shadows) as well as other uses

I've used them a few times and not had a problem - found them to be quicker than some UK sellers when it comes to delivery....
