Hi all

Need a wee bit of advice. Been looking at the above flashes but have to admit bit confused as to what I "actually" need.

I am ok with manual flash and I will be using them for portraits, mainly outdoors. My plan currently is to get one SB910, for all the fancy on camera stuff and it can also be used on its own but what would be a good Yongnuo model to go with it for the off camera stuff.

Im looking to get another three

Any advice appreciated

Probably 560s. Fully manual but gn of 55 (I think) and only around 40-45 quid.

Ok thanks Leigh....I was actually looking at the YN-560 II's, so you have confirmed for me.

Cheers

Another vote for the 560's here. Really versatile and pretty well made for the price.

Have you guys got the 560's or the revised 560 II's ?

I have an SB700 and a 560II to use with my D7000. Use the SB700 for iTTL and both for off camera flash with shoot through brollies. Excellent. I would second the vote for the 560II - it is excellent VFM

i use the same setup ,,, works really well ,,, if u went for SB700 and 2, 560II, more or less same price of SB910 ;)

I have 4 x yongnuo. 3 x 460II and 1 x 465 which is a ttl model so does all the fancy on camera stuff as you say. If you want one fancier get the 565 or better again the 568.

Sorry....just revisiting this thread...So if I were to get a 565 which does on camera iTTL would that also be able to fire remote ones?

The 565 cannot be a wireless master, you will need something like a SB900 for that. So it cannot trigger remote flashes unless the remote ones are simple optical slaves. (ie. it sees a flash and flashes itself).

The 565 can be a wireless slave though meaning a flash/camera which is acting as a commander can control it. The few times I've played with it, I've used my D700 as the commander with the built in flash to trigger.

I have two 565s for my canon
they are pretty good, well built and decent but not as good as my canon 580ii. but I didn't expect them to be.
they should be able to be triggered by your nikon body if you have the right kit.
there is a selection in the flash menu that says do you want to receive instruction from canon, nikon or both.
