Hi all,

I'm just starting some research on a flash gun for my D7000 and was hoping for some advice.
Uses, both on and off camera but if I was using it off camera it would only be a short distance so a wired one is an option.
I guess most flashes recharge in seconds now days so I don't imagine that's an issue, correct me if I'm wrong.
Tilt and swivel is a must.
I'm happy to consider a dedicated flash rather than a Nikon flash too.
So go ahead, give me something to google and scare myself with the price.
My budget could stretch to about £250

I would go for an SB700, I had one with my D7000 and it worked a dream. OCF was achieved via sync cable or you can do it wirelessly using the built in mode in camera. This is a little limited though as it uses the onboard flash to trigger the SB700.

I just sold an SB700 with sync cable for £145 so well in budget if you wanted to go used.

Nice one Mark, ta!
I'm all over used equipment so that's not an issue for me.

I'd suggest a Godox TT685n and X1 trigger.

High speed sync, wireless TTL, well built and yours for £110.

With my d90, I have used yn565, shanny and sb800. All work well on or off, but with off I use triggers.

I've had both the Youngnou YN565 and YN568 for my D7000 and D7100 and both have been spot on, the 568 has more head swivel and HSS.
