I'm currently looking for a set of red green and blue filters.

It's the primary colours, and not the shades of such colours i'm after.

It's not for photography, it's for my final year project at uni, i need colour filters so as to determine optical signatures in fuel samples.

Anywhere know of anywhere that sell the plasticy filters? the ones you can cut into pieces? Price is a bit of an issue, as i have to stay in a budget, but say, £5 for the filters.

I don't mind ordering off the internet, or off the high street, so anyone got any good shops that will sell such items?

Cheers

I've ordered from flashgels before for a full set and it looks like they do individual stuff now. Delivery was good and I can recommend them if they've got what you're after.

What colours are you after as we have a lots of Lee gels sat here from when the lad did the lighting at school plays?

Ket me know what you need and sizes and I'll see what we can do and all for a donation to the site.

Jeff

You could try the Lee Filters swatch - Lots of toggers have caught onto this idea now and are abusing Lee Filters generosity.

Go and make friends with the drama department or the drama society. They should be able to provide some gels in return for a favour.

Most theatrical hire places will happily hand over books of gels, as mentioned here Lee are good, personally when I was working in theatre we favoured Rosco...but only because they're cheaper :D

Well, just ordered a Lee swatch book, so i'll see what happens with that. Failing that, i'll have to look again :)

Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

I have both, but then I do a bit of theatrical lighting as a hobby myself.

Good isn't it? :p There's another firm besides Lee & Rosco, but I can't remember who it is, they're of a better quality but they only do a limited range.

If you don't get a book from Lee then PM me and I'll dig some out for you, I've got 3 or 4 books worth

Last year I did 7 shows for 4 different companies in 9 different venues. One group was a touring opera who did 4 consecutive weeks in different venues and several nights at each different venue. Too much for volunteer work really and have managed to cut it down slightly for this year.
