As the title says really!

I am after a flash to use on my canon 40D. I would want something that has TTL compatability. Most of my photos are sports and general holiday pictures but i want something that i can use for indoor family pictures, especially of my baby girl. I have had a look on the web and found the following.

Jessops 350AFD

Yongnuo YN465

Nissin Di466

Any view of the above or other recommendations greatfully recieved

Thanks

John

I have the Jessops 360AFD
Like you i dont do much flash photography and it works for me personally and it think it will cover the work you want it to do in your post above
It is TTL with both manual and auto settings is fully rotatable both sideways and up and down so is good for bouncing , comes with built in diffuser and bounce card
New i think it is £79.95 i picked mine up from here for £40 second hand and for that price i can't complain
They seem to come up quite regulalrly on here and £40 seems to be the going rate for that price i dont think you will get better pre owned without paying big bucks for a lot higher spec

There are two or three Yongnuo flashes in that price range with TTL, I use the YN-468 and it does the job for around £70. For indoor portraits TTL is over-rated in my opinion, for the same budget you should able to manage a couple of manual Yongnuo flashguns, a couple of flashstands, a set of Yongnuo wireless triggers and a couple of basic modifiers (shoot through umbrellas are usually the budget option).

I use the Nissin di866 and the di622 constantly and love them. They are extremely well made and offer massive bang for the buck. (If you get the 622 mk 2 it is a wireless slave for ettl which could be useful if you want to upgrade in the future)

Whatever you get if you are going to use it on camera make sure you get one that has a tilt and swivel head and the little white reflector card.

Good luck!
