I'm after a little advice from all you kind forum users if you don't mind.
I'm relatively new to photography, starting around 6 months ago with my trusty Nikon D3100. What I found very quickly was that I was most interested in sport photography. I bought a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 about a month back and while the D3100 is a far cry from professional, it does a decent job with the big Sigma attached to it.
I have been lucky enough to be allowed to shoot for my local ice hockey team in Sheffield. Recently, they have asked me to take more and more shots of sponsors in executive boxes in Sheffield Arena. My in built flash is currently doing a shocking job, so need to get myself a better one quick smart.
Unfortunately, I only have a budget of around £50-£80 at this point, so a Nikon branded one is a stretch too far. I was looking at this:-
http://www.jessops.com/online.store/products/67558/show.html
I note from various forums (including threads here) that it seems pretty popular and does a reasonable job as a starter flash on a limited budget. Unfortunately, what I don't know for definite is whether its suitable for me and my camera. This is the first time i've delved into flashes and I see mention of manual/automatic amongst other things. What I basically need to understand, at a very simple level is if I attach this to my D3100 and press the shutter button, will it flash?!
Thanks everyone in advance.
EDIT - i'd also be open to suggestions of other flashes too, with my budget in mind obviously.
