Thanks Paul, I`m tinkering with using one on something I need to capture, the moment will be short and the animal very quick, would an extender be of no use then?
I hate using flash on animals and birds, but may have no option.

or, if you know where the subject is going to be, place the flash closer to the spot and fire the flash remotely using the pop up flash on the camera......
you go on about flash with the kingfisher and how you won't use on wild animals, read the third post in this topic. i ain't wise and you aint gotta be to see that.
