Flash Diffuser For Pop-up Flash

Link won't load for me. But if it's what I think it is, they're pretty useless TBH.

They work by spreading the light around so that it bounces off nearby surfaces and the reflections fill in the shadows a bit, softening the light. Theory is the same as a Stofen type diffuser, but they don't work like Stofens at all (Stofens are good  ).

They don't work because they don't direct any light upwards, towards a ceiling for example, which is usually a very good bounce surface. And even if they did, any sort of bounce-flash gobbles huge amounts of power and the pop-up just runs out of steam.

I bought a cheapy copy of the Fong Puffer (similar design to the FITP one) for a few quid, just to try. It wouldn't fit either of my Canons without bodging, then it was hopeless in use, then it snapped :(

Thanks for the advice, will ahve to have a look at Garhams thing.
