OK I have some goodies from FITP, namely a set of RF-602's which attach noicely to the bottom of my 580EX II's and they are great had no problems with them at all.
However when the whole lot i.e. strobe and reciever are attached to the 360° Ballhead-type umbrella adapter with coldshoe (also from FITP) the connection is loose so much so if I'm using them in a reflector setup they can and have just simply slip out, Fortunately enough I have managed to catch them before they hit the floor or they have landed on something soft, like a model!!
I'm thinking of attaching the receivers by cable to the speedlite so the 580's locking mech can keep it secure and simply use a ball bungy to secure the receiver to the light stand. Thing is I know its a male PC for the 580 but whats the other plug called? the one with the red collar and can you get the cables in question?
Or is this all a bad idea as there's a better ball head type adaptor that has a locking mech on it?

I think FITP has the ideal answer though - those little Stroboframe jobbies have a screw fitting that will lock up tight as you like.
