I'm wanting to try my hand at getting into macro photography. I'm not talking about super close ups of purely of a flies eye for example, just a reasonable amount of magnification. I'm looking at getting a flash bracket to be able to move my flashgun into different positions rather than just stuck on top of the camera. Does anyone know of the best sort of bracket? I was looking on Ebay as I'm not interested in spending big bucks on big brands just to try it out. If it breaks or I don't like then then it's not a big lump out my pocket
Also with regards to extender tubes vs a reversing ring (onto the camera, not on to another lens), what would be best to get the most magnification? I've tried my mates magnification filters but not too keen on them if I'm honest. My cameras are a Canon 550D and 70D and the lenses I have are the kit 18-55 (yet to be upgraded), 70-200 L f/2.8 IS and the 100-400 L f/4.5 IS. What would be the best out of them to use for macro?
I don't mind using the camera as fully manual with getting a reversing ring or cheap extender tubes. I'm aware of the draw backs and setting the aperture prior to taking the lens off with pressing the DOF button.
