I recently brought a canon speedlite 430EXII flash, are rechargeable batteries ok to use in a flash gun? as I know that the voltages given off from rechargeable batteries are lower.

thanks.

Rechargeable batteries are much preferable as they work better in high current scenarios (such as recharging a flash). The modern variety that don't discharge over time are the ones to get - lots of people swear by Eneloops.

I got the eneloops after asking the same question a while back and have been very pleased with them.

Eneloops for me, too. A powerex 900 charger is a worthwhile investment as well

Eneloops and a decent charger with a display. The one that comes with them is rubbish so I'd just get the batteries alone and a 3rd party charger.

Don't think I'll ever go to back to 7 Day except to buy more REAL Eneloops after finely trying them. YES, they ARE that good!

Any recommendations for the charger then please??

Also, Sanyo Eneloops plus a smart charger. I'm using the Technoline Smart battery charger :)
