Any ideas for freeware that will convert FLAC to MP3 on a mac?

TIA

ffmpeg should work.

Not scared of the command line - as long as there's documentation - so may try that first.
There's documentation. It's just finding what you want to do is the pain. If you think you might want to do media encoding generally, it's a useful tool to master IMHO. There is a port for everything out there (even the embedded Linux PBX I'm building!).

Pretty sure iTunes can do the conversion if you want the easier option :)

If you don't want to get messy with the command line then you could try All2MP3

Download from here

Disclaimer: I've not used it, and the developer only claims compatibility with 10.4 through 10.6. It'll probably work on newer systems as it's combined PPC/intel code, but YMMV.

Edit: should read posts more thoroughly, Arad85 beat me to it. I'll just slink off now ;)
