Hi many thanks for the reply and the welcome,Hi and welcome to TP
None too sure as I have not been on Fjords cruise but IMO it is good idea to have something in the 8-25mm range and such majestic scenery needs a wider view to encompass the vista.
The lens you mention would be good to isolate subjects within the wider landscape area.
I hope you have a wonderful trip and get some great images of them.
Hi,I,ve just inherited a nikon D5100,i have a couple of lenses with it,the one I favour is the 55-300,my question is would this lens be suitable to capture scenery at the fjords? If not which lens would you recommend.
The 18-55 is a wider angle lens giving you a wider field of view. I would experiment between that and the 55-300 to understand field of view and how they will differently capture the landscapes you will see.Hi many thanks for the reply and the welcome,
The other lenses I have are a 28-80 and a 18-55,doesn't mean a lot to me but I think I need to do some experimenting before I head off to the fjords, also planning to take a drone across with authorisation so it's going to be a fun trip
