Hi all.

Is it possible to use the E1 hand strap without fitting the BG-E2N battery grip.? Or is there some other hand grip available I haven't seen yet.

I have the battery grip (and the strap) but don't keep the battery grip on the camear all the time, however the hand strap would be handly to keep attached to the camera all the time, along with the quick release clips I currently have for the neck strap.

Any ideas, suggestions, products etc..??

The E1 hand strap does not fit without the grip but there are other makes which use the tripod mount for the lower attachment.

I always leave the grip on mine, so I don't have the problem.

I had the same problem. Had the grip on my 350d, but the 40D is big enough without the grip so I wanted the hand grip without needing the battery grip.

I'm using manfrotto heads on my tripod and monopod, so there is always an RC2 quick release plate stuck to the bottom of my camera (40D).I just bought a manfrotto camdapter plate from camdapter.com. This replaces the RC2 plate on the bottom of the camera, but also has an eye for attaching the bottom of a hand grip.

My E1 from warehouseexpress came yesterday, the camdapter was shipped from the US last week so should be here next week.

check out camdapter.com for pics which will explain how it works.

This Camadaptor will provide the E1 strap mount you require:

I have bought the Camadaptor from Tom as per the posting above - what a great little idea these things are.

Now going from neck strap to no neck strap, or tripod to handheld is a lot safer!

Cheers all
