I'm interested in purchasing the the Sigma 8mm fisheye lens for my 5D's Does anyone have it and if so how do they find it. I want the effect it gives so I'm not interested in how I can fix the distortion. If anyones got it can they let me see a photo taken with it. Thanks in advance.

I've got one, and it is incredibly fishy. It's a really specialised lens though, I wouldn't buy one unless you know you are going to use it often (damn impulse buying).

I'll see if I can find a pic when I get home

That would be ideal. I'm looking to get one that will give me the desired fisheye effect. I want it for occasional use at weddings in the right circumstances (inside of churches etc) They all seem to be quite similar in price range so the degree of effect is probably more the consideration for me. I'm not rushing out to buy one as yet so plenty time. Hi Trev thanks good reading , perhaps the 15mm is more what I'm after as the 8mm gives completely circular.

If you want a rectangular image on your 5D a 15m fish will be the way to go, as you say, 8mm will be a crcular image in the middle of the sensor.

FWIW the 8mm on a croped sensor camera will give most of a circular image, but with the top and bottom chopped off. 15mm will stil work, but it wo't be the fullfisheye effect (180º view) Sigma make a 10mm fish which gives a rectangular image with a 180º view on a cropped sensor camera and I believe a 4mm which gives a circular image...
