Fisheye Software

Hi Everyone

Just brought myself the circular 4mm f2.8 Sigma Fisheye. Can anyone recommend a software package that is better than CS5 for distortion and from turning the pic from the round composition into a flattened image

Hi Sharon,

You could look at Hugin, it's a free opensource panoramic stitching / projection manipulation software. However it's VERY complicated (I guess the developers would call it "feature rich" instead) and it's best to seek out some tutorials on the web for what you're trying to do.

Take a look at the Pannini projection while you're at it, it can be much more interesting than rectilinear. In any case you are going to lose a lot of information from the image when changing the projection but a rectilinear "flattened" one will cost you a LOT.

Oh and it's not fisheye "distortion".. the PROJECTION is meant to be like that, it's not really distorted
