First week with mirrorless

Just packed up my Canon 5dmkii and couple of lenses and some canon flash guns - all being shipped off to MPB.....
:) another one bites the dust..... :)

It must be either Fuji, Sony or Olympus?

Already got it - Fuji X-E2 and I will shortly have the following lenses 14mm, 23mm, 35mm, 60mm, 18-55 and 55-200....

Love being able to stick the camera and a couple of lenses in small bag and hardly feel the weight....

I agree, the loss of weight its fantasic.... I only have one lens at the moment so will need to buy more ;)

Weight and size is the main factor for me too. I must also say that I haven't noticed much, if any, difference in image quality.
I still have my 40d and 70-200 f4L, as I cant quite bring myself to part with them, but the day is forthcoming as I need more lenses
and a viewfinder for my E-PL5.

I figured the longer I held on to my Canon camera and lenses the more it was devaluing by lots shifting to mirror-less....I put some items in the classifieds on here that a year or two ago would have been snapped up - in the end I had to give MPB a call and get a price on my 5dmkii, two lenses and two flash guns....

I had an EOS 7d & 5dII. With all the lenses.
Bought mirror-less earlier in the year and love it.
The 7d has now gone. I've been seriously considering why I need the 5d, lenses and tripods etc..
I think I've used the 5d once since I purchased the smaller camera.
I think my 'photos are better, and I enjoy my photography so much more since I went without the mirror.

welcome to the club :)

I am so glad its not just me.

I got an E-M5 last year and have picked up a few nice lenses since.
Looking through lightroom over the last week has made me realise that apart from the odd astro shot, Ive not picked up my 5D3 since last year.

In the last day or so I have really started to wonder about selling my canon gear and getting more mft gear, I feel like im about to sell a child :)

At the mo, I think I would rather sell the child. Anyone want an 18 stone biker with a job?

A work collegue of mine is going to be moving into photography soon..... I advised he buy the Sony A6000 with the kit lens and the 55-210mm telephoto :)

Well, my Son is bigger than me, so the Canon gear is going!
I've seen a lens that I want! ;)

I've done the same thing. Thought I would try M4/3 and before I knew it, I had 2 bodies (EM1 & GX7) as well as most of the good glass (12-40 F2.8 Pro, 60mm F2.8 Macro, 45mm F1.8, and Panasonic 7-14 F4, 35-100 F2.8, 25mm F1.4, 14mm F2.5, 100-300 etc), as I found it so liberating (especially when hiking which I love doing), as it was so small and light. Whilst it doesn't give me the resolution and DR of the D800, for what I am doing with the images (up to A3 prints and monitor / TV viewing), it is perfect.

Problem I have now is that I haven't picked up my Nikon gear in about 2 months and I have a lot of money tied up in them (bodies and glass). Trouble is, I've been a Nikon shooter for over 30 years now (yes I am that old), and whilst me head is telling me to get shot, my heart just can't do it. Have you guys built up any irrational bond to your Canon / Nikon gear that's stopped you dumping it all in, or am I alone in being a wuss :D

It's a tool.... If you aint using and want to free up some cash sell.... If you don't need the money sit on it as it devalues ;)
This, I'm afraid. (y)
Some of my Canon stuff will be going to my Granddaughter, as she has the Canon gear bug now, and will be using it at Uni for her degree or something in fashion or something.

Just packing my bags to go on hols. In my fstopgear Micro-icu and a black rapid snapr 20 i have:-

2 bodies - (OMD EM-5 and a Panasonic GM1)
7 lenses - (samyang 7.5mm, oly 17mm, 25mm, 45mm, 9-18 and a panasonic 12-32 and 35-100)
hitech filter kit with 3 grad, 2 nd, a big stopper and a polariser

dread to think how much the equivalent would weigh in the 'full frame' or even dx world!

I don't think she would be pleased to see you couldn't care less what she does :(

Probably not, but it's her fault because she keeps changing her mind, and it's hard keeping up with the young uns!
But she knows I love her! Enough to run her to Leigh 3 times next week!
