I have just set up my first website (see the link below!), I would love some feedback on the layout, how easy you found to navigate it etc!

Rob

Good start Rob

The main heading image is a little on the large side for my liking, I have to scroll down to even see the main content (might just be the resolution of my monitor)

There is also something about the links that doesnt sit right, maybe a tad bigger and in bold would work?

Nice use of heading tags and divs to layout content instead of tables which is spot on

Few errors on the HTML validator but doesnt really matter for a personal site

Hi Rob

Like the website, especially the macro pics. What is the max number you can post?

PHOTOGRAPHER in text spelt without the G! Otherwise looking ok! (I would have another think about the homepage image though)
PLUS, I'm first to leave a comment on the site!

I agree, will sort it out!

Fair point - thanks for input!

Thanks!:D

I have no idea - as it is a free template based site!

I have no idea, seems to allow lots of uploads...

Yeah!! Thanks for that and it works too came through to my blackberry no worries! Cant believe I spelt that wrong :bang:

Nice and simple, agree about large header. I would possibly look at moving the pic to the very top of the page and putting your heading over that instead of the black space above the image, that might make it look a little better, overall though I like.

Mmm good point!

Thanks all for looking - anymore feedback much appreciated!! Rob

It's a nice site although I'm afraid one or two of the shots are not of very good quality, the small birds for example is not in focus and the main shot of Blackpool at night has definite movement. If you are planning to try to use this as a commercial site you must address these problems best wishes with it .

OK, viewing in Chrome. Sorry if this is a bit blunt.

Home page
1: the header image isn't in focus for me at all i'm afraid
2: there is a broken image to the left of the first paragraph
3: there is a bloody massive white block underneath the text
4: there's then a large gap between the white block and the "Made with Webby" text

Macro
1: the massive white block is there again
2: the last 2 images have watermarks which are different, yet the other images do not have any watermarks at all

Landscapes
1: white block...

Wildlife Images
1: white block......

Blog
Get rid of this. It makes the site too corny. I'd go there to look at the pictures, not listen to how your dog is ill/you're not sleeping right (examples of subjects). if you want a blog, make one, but keep them seperate

Nothing to say here !

What everyone has said already. I think the navigation could do with some rollover effect to show its actually a link.
That header image must be pretty big as it takes seconds to load after the rest of the page, plus its a bit out of focus.

I agree with ding. If you put your heading onto the image it would line up perfectly on screen so you would not have to scroll down. There is also a broken link on homepage lh side next to the wording?:( Looks great *** for a freebie template. Good luck with it :)

Just had a thought that maybe the white blocks are "editable" i.e. you could add some pics or a logo etc. into them. It would perhaps look better than just white blocks :) If not, then maybe you could change the colour to match the background colour so they look "invisible"?

Think I know what the white blocks are google ad sense.... sorting now!

I disagree. A blog if done correctly and in mind of who will be viewing your site is a great thing to have, shows photos you have recently taken without having to update the gallery etc. Obviously stories about insomnia will do nothing for the reader, but that you had a good shoot at XYZ, your review of the latest piece of kit you picked up etc. will be appreciated by anyone who goes to your site.
