First timer

Ok so iv decided i want to try my hand at car photography. Do any of you have any tips and know any decent locations in and around Birmingham?

The kit i have are a Nikon D300s, 16-85, 55-200, sb-900 and nissin Di866.

Haha im only 23. I was thinking more along the lines of driving my mrs rover 200 banger there and practising on that.

Try the Autosport show at the NEC (mid Jan) for F1 & all other motorsports included.

Always a challenge to get a clean pic at a show without peoples heads in the way.

It's the same as shooting anything really, see what other people have shot, angles, lighting etc and start from there!

Front 3/4 shot from down low is a good start and if you have one use a circular polariser.

I've been doing car photography a while and the main tips from me are:

Try as many different angles as possible.
Profile shots always work well on cars
Use a polarisor to remove glare and refelections on the lights and windscreen
Front 3/4 shots are the classic magsine shots and work well on all cars
and
Use a mini tripod for low angle shots which suit most cars
