First Time Wedding Photohgraphy

I accessed your gallery through Swissy's link, but had trouble viewing the slides on my ipad as the next button is covered by the slides. The previous button worked just fine though. In any event I had a look at the shots on your flickr. When I click on the link you posted I get "page not found".

Good call on using the bridesmaid. They usually know everyone's name. In addition to the dreaded urinal pose, watch for the Mom's with their clutch purses and the shoulder wraps that are always in their hands...they can really kill a nice shot.

I'm chuckling when you say an assistant. I worked as a floral designer for many years and I thought I'd seen it all until one wedding where there were 6, yes 6 photographers and 5 videographers fully kitted out with steady cam rigs. They were falling all over each other and just generally getting in the way, not only of myself but the caterers, the band, the barmen...quite a show.

All of the advice above is stop on and will really help you. I learned everything I know on here lol. Not sure if you have read this but its something I posted when I did my first wedding:

Incidentally I've got my second wedding to do in 8 weeks time for my sister. I'm certainly not going to make a habit out of weddings but as she has seen my last efforts she knows what I can do.

Good luck and make sure you enjoy the day, after all it is your sisters wedding!

This is very helpful, thanks for that!
