Edit My Images
No
Well I have learnt quite a few lessons. Got a few good images but what I learnt already before entering the PP

Cons
1) I should have got to know the child before the shoot as she was far more comfortable with the camera as we had lunch afterwards.
2) I need to use the DOF preview far more as I have quite a lot of wastage at the more wide end of my aperture.
3) I need to look over more portrait images for poses/ ideas
4) Avoid noisy areas as the kid found it far too distracting ( or use it to your advantage by standing between it and your target )
5) Use fill flash more

Pros
6) I have learnt that the winter gardens was a near perfect venue
7) Parents being willing participants was a huge bonus

was this as a professional or amateur shoot ?

very useful info

Purely Amateur. I was doing it for a friend and so I could get some practice. Fired of around 400 frames. Friend, his girlfriend and their little one. Good experience for me and hopefully a few good shots for them to use as they see fit.
I will probably have more lessons to learn as I go PP and I intend to add these to this string also. I also took too much stuff but that is not a problem. I only used my 85 and 24-70 with the Speedlite using the white card to bounce light where I noticed shadows. I was also quite surprised by how little time was actually spent on the shutter.

can we see some of the shots here?

I have yet to go do the PP but I will send some samples to him as I do them. If he has no objections to me posting I will. If he rather keep them private that is what I shall do.

I thought that most cameras work on a wide open aperture, then stop down the lens when you press the shutter (so there is the most light possible for focusing etc). So wouldn't the DOF preview button only help when working with smaller apertures rather than wider?
