First RAW images

After shooting just jpegs since Christmas, yesterday I decided to try RAW and jpeg, what a difference in file size!
When I open the files on the PC from the card, I have the jpeg and a what looks like a flat red cat! When the mouse is held over it, it says IrfanView CR2 File, I use IrfanView to reduce the image size.

When I go to PE9, it normally detects any new photos I have looked at, and would I like to transfer them to the organiser. It is now not doing this, is this because there are RAW files and jpegs to be transfered?

you'll probably need to update the ACR plug-in for Elements to the latest version in order to read the RAW files.

When the options appear when you insert the memory card, I just clicked on the Organiser in Elements and it uploaded them to Elements 9.
Opened one and all the RAW info appeared with it.

Now to learn how to use the RAW editor correctly!
