Hi everybody,
I'm a student filmmaker based in Stoke-On-Trent and I'm currently in pre-production on a non-fiction film about a railway station or a similarly built-up area filled with people. It will be an experimental film playing with slow-motion, stills photography and playing with time. The intention of the film is to observe people in the manner of street and to show the diversity of experience and types of people going in and out of a city.
I am looking for examples of good street photography in train stations. I know next to nothing as I'm a video editor by trade rather than a photographer. I have a few questions I'd like answered too if any of you can possibly help.
- Have any of you had experiences in Manchester Piccadilly or Stoke-On-Trent?
- What was your experience of shooting in a train station (not necessarily either of those two) like?
- What are the pitfalls of shooting in a train station?
- What sort of "moments" should I be keen to look out for?
- What are the technical limitations that I should look out for?
Any help on these questions and any reading material or examples would be so helpful. Thanks for reading.
