Yes
It feels a bit like cheating, but I really like the effects that can be had. Too much?

Bit halo-ish, but it's early days playing yet.

Agreed on No1, I'm sure I can improve it with a bit of practice.

My comment was meant slightly tongue in cheek.

It's just that this software has allowed me to take rather mundane shots and turn them into something I'm quite pleased with. Proof that you can polish a turd.:D

It is a fantastic tool, I was actually getting a buzz seeing how much control it gives you and some of the results I was getting. I'm already addicted and can't wait to get out there with my camera again.

I hope this explains.

The image started as one's and zero's, anything we do after that can hardly be cheating ;)

Aaah okay, that makes sense. Yeah black and white is a fantastic way to take your work to another level. I'm a huge fan of Silver Efex myself. I actually wrote up a little primer on black and white, you can read it here if you're interested! It's just some of the basic fundamentals to get people creative with the process. Your photo of the two elderly folks could pop a little more if you experiment with the colour sensitivity of the conversion. At the moment it's quite low contrast, but I think a more high key approach may suit it even better.

Have fun!

Cheating..cheating.....:bat:

I realise it was tongue in cheek

Silver Efex Pro is amazing software and I use it all the time. I really like what it does with skies.

Nice set BTW, the tap photograph is a cracker.

Cheers.

Ooops, moved them to a different album in photobucket.

I've put them back, but not sure if they are in the original order.
