I've taken the plunge and agreed to do a model photography shoot tomorrow and I've never done it before, I am an experienced photographer but don't have much experience in shooting people.

Equipment I'll be using is:- canon 5D Mark 2, various lenses, off camera flash, umbrella and reflectors...

Location:- I have found an 8 foot high wall that is covered in graffiti and looks very very cool.

What is the best lighting set up for this type of shoot?? Any advice is welcome!

Mikey

get down there today with a stooge/dummy/mate and experiment!

Was planning on going down a few hours before she arrives to set up and try some shots on my friend.

One light or several? With just the one light a snoot or the closed up brolly might work well to focus the light - create a nice fall-off of the light around the model, focus on the model and the immediate surroundings?

I've two sppedlites, planning on doing cross flash type shots

First photo shoot went better than I could of expected! Got some fantastic shots! Will post some on here soon.

Good to hear it went well. Fortune favours the brave. I have seen so many photographers say no to challenges such as this and they never get to know what they can achieve.
