First order with Peak Imaging - a bit slow/not great comms

I thought I'd try placing an order with Peak Imaging as I haven't used them before but have heard good things.

I placed an order on the 9th December and until I emailed then yesterday hadn't received any communication from them apart from the order confirmation - was told in the reply to my email that the print was despatched late yesterday.

It seems that this is a bit slow - 5 days to process an order, I'm also a bit disappointed with their comms. DSCL process orders much quicker and their comms are excellent.

How does this experience with Peak compare to anyone elses - is it perhaps just due to the Christmas workload ?

I used to use them all the time for film developing and they always seemed very efficient and normally turned orders round pretty much by return. They were fine doing non standard process like c41 to e6 and vice versa so pretty happy.

Not shot any film for a few months so not used them that recently, about 6 months ago last.
